Welcome to the Bridgeway Flag Football League.

This is a coed youth flag football league held at Bridgeway Community Church in Rockford, Michigan. New to flag football? See here for more information on flag football rules - https://nflflag.com/coaches/flag-football-rules. This is a non-contact league.

Each player will be provided a jersey and set of flags. Athletes will be placed in one of two leagues grades 2/3 or grades 4/5.

The league runs August 26 - October 5. Including practices and games.

All games will be on Saturdays 9am - 12pm. There will be 2 - 24 minute halves, with a short story from a volunteer about God and sports. Game schedule listed below.

BRIDGEWAY FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE (BRIDGEWAY COMMUNITY CHURCH)
RELEASE, WAIVER OF LIABILITY, AND MEDICAL TREATMENT AUTHORIZATION

This Release, Waiver of Liability, and Medical Treatment Authorization (this “Release”) is given by the party signing below (the “Releasor”), who is the parent or guardian of the participant named below (“Participant”) and is given to Bridgeway Community Church, Bridgeway Flag Football League "BFFL" and its affiliates, divisions, officers, agents, board members, employees, staff, sponsors, legal representatives, administrators, coaches, and volunteers (collectively “Releasees”), in consideration for BFFL permitting the Participant to participate in the youth football program organized by BFFL (the “Progam”). Releasor also signs this Release for purposes of giving a release to USA Football, Inc., a not for profit 501(c)(3) corporation (“USAFB”).

  1. PERMISSION TO PARTICIPATE. Releasor hereby gives permission for the Participant to participate in the Program.

  2. RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS. Releasor hereby releases and discharges Releasees and BFFL from all present and future liabilities, debts, obligations, costs, expenses, damages, losses, charges, judgments, executions, liens, claims, demands, actions or causes of action of whatever nature or description, in equity or at law, whether caused in whole or in part by the Releasees or any other person or thing (including BFFL), which the Releasor, Participant, or ward, family, estate, heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, successors or assigns may have, whether known or unknown, suspected, asserted or not asserted, arising out of participation by the Participant in the Program (including, without limitation, all football activities of the Program), and agrees that neither Releasees nor BFFL are responsible for any of the foregoing arising out of the Program. The Releasor understands, acknowledges, and accepts that this Release is intended to be binding on the Releasor and anyone related to Releasor, including the Participant.

  3. RISKS ACCEPTED. The Releasor further understands, acknowledges and accepts that participation in the Program involves certain inherent risks, including, but not limited to, property damage, economic loss, infection by communicable disease, and serious bodily injury (including death), and agrees that the Participant is voluntarily participating in the Program with full knowledge of the risks involved and that the Releasor and Participant accept all risks of participation. The Releasor declares that the Participant is physically fit and has the requisite skill level to participate in the Program.

a. COVID-19 AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE NOTICE; ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY. Releasor acknowledges that the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and any resulting disease (together with any mutation, adaptation, or variation thereof (collectively, “COVID-19”)) is extremely contagious and that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other communicable diseases exists in any place where people are or have been present, including Program events, and that no level of precautions taken by Releasees or public health officials can eliminate the risk of exposure. Releasor and Participant knowingly and freely assume all risks of exposure to COVID-19 and other communicable diseases and assume full responsibility for Participant’s participation. Releasor hereby releases and discharges Releasees with respect to any and all illness, disability, death, or loss or damage or property with respect to the risks of exposure to COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.

b. COVID-19 PROTOCOLS. BFFL may from time to time put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 that may include following the directives and guidelines from the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), the Governor, the Michigan Department of Health, USA Football and the local county health department. Releasor acknowledges that Participant’s and Releasor’s participation in the Program is voluntary. Releasor agrees that Releasor and Participant will abide by directives issued by BFFL designed to lower the risk of COVID-19 exposure which may include (but not be limited to) wearing masks, social distancing (6 feet apart), washing hands, non-sharing of equipment, wiping down all shared equipment after each use, limitations on spectators, etc. Releasor agrees that if Releasor or Participant fails to follow these directives, Participant may, in BFFL's sole discretion, forfeit Participant’s right to continued participation in the Program.

  1. MEDICAL TREATMENT AUTHORIZATION. In case of an accident, injury or serious illness to Participant during participation in the Program, Releasor hereby makes, constitutes and appoints each of the Participant’s BFFL coaches and any other representative of BFFL as Releasor’s attorney-in-fact to act for Releasor, in Releasor’s name, and in Releasor’s place to seek and obtain any and all reasonable dental and medical treatment of any type or nature for Participant. Releasor hereby certifies, covenants, and promises that Releasor has all the authority to make and grant the foregoing authorization. Releasor understands that BFFL does not have any insurance to pay for the dental, medical and/or hospital costs that might be incurred on behalf of the Participant and agrees that any and all costs incurred for any treatment shall be Releasor’s sole responsibility. Releasor requests that he or she be contacted as soon as practicable after the accident, injury, or illness.

  2. INDEMNIFICATION. Releasor shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BFFL and all other Releasees against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, or expenses of whatever kind, including reasonable attorney fees, fees, and the costs of enforcing any right to indemnification under this Release, arising out or resulting from any claim of a third party (including any claim brought by or on behalf of Releasor and/or Participant) related to Participant’s participation in the Program, including any claim related to Releasor’s own negligence or the ordinary negligence of BFFL.

  3. MISCELLANEOUS. The Releasor understands, acknowledges and accepts that this Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the state of Michigan and agrees that if any portion of this Release is invalid, the remainder will continue in full legal force and effect. This Release is binding on and shall inure to the benefit of BFFL and its successors and assigns. This Release may be signed by manual signature and/or digital signature and/or transmission. The effectiveness of any such method of signature shall have the same force and effect as manually-signed originals and shall be binding on all parties to this Release.
